Macias, Juan

Juan V. Macias, 76, of Clovis, died Saturday, Jan 21, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 9, 1929, in Pedernales, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Juan and Eusebia Valles Macias.

He brought his family to Clovis in 1979 and worked as a cooker at the ethanol plant until his retirement in 1991. He married Cristina Sandoval in 1980 in Clovis. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Family members said he enjoyed watching Spanish movies, Novelas and listening to Mexican music. He also enjoyed sitting outside, when the sun was shining, to smoke and drink coffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jose and Manuel Macias; sister, Margarita Macias; and daughter, Maria Parra.

Survivors include his wife, Cristina; sons, Raul (and wife, Mercedes), Jose C. Macoas (Juana), both of Loveland, Colo., Mario Macias of Juarez, Mexico, Juan (Paula), Jaime (Kimberly), Oscar (Edna), Jose A. Macias (April), all of Clovis; daughters, Ana Macias (Jose Luis Mendoza) and Silvia Macias, both of Clovis; sisters, Anna Beltran (Jose) Beltran of Juarez, Mexico and Eva Macias of El Paso, Texas; 39 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home.

Father Sotero Sena is officiating.

Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Raul Macias, Pepe Compos Macias, Juan, Jaime, Oscar, Jose and Juan Macias Jr. and Victor Parra Jr.

Honorary pallbearers include Gilberto Macias, Mario Macias, Francisco Tovar and Alonso Macias. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
