Stout, Jonnie L.

Mrs. Jonnie L. Dillehay Stout, 88, of Clarendon, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, in Clarendon.

She was born March 12, 1917, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Thomas Henry and Emily Williams Dillehay. She married the Rev. John Henry Stout on Sept. 4, 1934, in Jacksonsville. They were residents of Carizzo prior of moving to Clarendon in 1971. She was a member of the Pathfinders Club and the First Baptist Church of Clarendon.

Family members said she was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 11, 1986, two brothers, a sister, and two grandchildren, Susan Babcock Harp and Timothy Ryan Jones.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Babcock (and husband, Kenneth) of Groom, Texas, and Nell Jones of Clovis; three sons, Dave Stout (Linda) of Clarendon, James E. Stout (Betty) of San Antonio, Texas, and Charles Stout of Clarendon; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Dave Stout, Mark Jones, Mark Metzger and family members will officiate services.

Burial is at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.

Pallbearers are Bryan and Scott Jones, Clint Babcock and Larry Stout.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Susan Babcock Harp Memorial Scholarship, c/o WTAMU Alumni Association/WTAMU Box 60753, Canyon, TX 79016-0001 or the Gideons.
