Nelson, Nettie

Nettie Nelson, 68, of Portales, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at her daughter’s home in Glendale, Ariz.

She was born Jan. 5, 1937, to Leonard and Maurene Inez Hill Bruffett in Little Rock, Ark.

She married George Nelson on Dec. 9, 1966, in Reno, Nev. She was a homemaker, and owned ABC Knitting in Bellingham, Wash. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, and taking care of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband; son, DeWayne (and wife Cindy) Nelson of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter, Betty (Dale) Tackett of Glendale, Ariz.; four brothers, Al Bruffett of California., James Bruffett of Clovis, John Bruffett of Nevada, Wayne Miller of California; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Clyde Davis will officiate.

Entombment will follow at the Plains Sanctuary Mausoleum in Clovis.
