Irene Beck

Irene Beck, 93, of Roswell and formerly of Melrose, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at a Roswell nursing home.

She was born April 6, 1912, in Roby, Texas, to Henry and Laura Chamberland. She married Robert Beck in 1930 in Amarillo. She was raised in Fisher County, Texas, and lived most of her life in eastern New Mexico around Melrose. She was a homemaker. She worked as a housekeeper for Clovis Memorial Hospital for many years.

Family members said she enjoyed canning and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Don Beck of Roswell, Robert L. Beck (and his wife Thelma Jean) of Eunice and Sidney A. Beck of Clovis; brother, Harry Chamberland of Clovis; sister, Nellie Burch of Clovis; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
