Trujillo/Jones

Dolores J. Trujillo of Portales and Richard K. Jones of San Diego, Calif. will be joined in marriage Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at Cannon Air Force Base Chapel. The Rev. Hugh Cottrell will perform the ceremony.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Reyes and Gloria Trujillo of Springer.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of James R. and Sylvia R. Jones of Madera, Calif.

Following the wedding the couple will reside in Portales.

The bride-elect is employed at Eastern New Mexico University. The prospective groom is employed at CAFB.

Wedding

Mohon/Perkins

Summer Mohon and Mike Perkins both of Spring, Texas, were joined in marriage Nov. 26, 2005 at Wyndham Sonesta Beach Resort in Southhampton Beach, Bermuda. The Rev. Kevin Berry performed the wedding ceremony.

A local reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 7 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Portales.

The bride is the daughter of John and Patty Mohon of Milnesand. She is the granddaughter of J.J. Jenkins of Roswell.

The bridegroom is the son of Robert Perkins of Woodlands, Texas and Sally Shay of Conroe, Texas.

Maid of honor was Jessica Mohon, bridesmaids were Melissa Lamb, Tori Davis and Sarah Berry and the junior bridesmaid was Kaitlan Perkins.

Bestman was Tony Sdao, groomsmen were Dennis Cassidy, Chad Mohon and McCannon Cassidy.

Flowergirl was Reighan Perkins.

The couple will reside in Spring.

The bride is employed at American Classified.

The groom is employed at MPA Tech.

Honors

Wilson

Earnest Wilson of Tolar, Texas, son of Margarette Wilson of Elida, received the American Paint Horse Association’s highest honor, its Distinguished Service Award. He received the award at APHA’s annual convention in Atlanta recently.

With more than 30 years of training Paint horses, Wilson is the only person to have trained and shown 24 APHA Superior All-Around horses. In addition, he has earned two Supreme Champion awards, 131 APHA Champion awards and 117 World and National Reserve Championships with Paint horses.

Wilson has created competition programs for other Paint enthusiasts, as well as being very active in the association.

He grew up on the family ranch near Elida.

Daughtery

Payton and Heather (Wilkerson) Daughtery graduated from New Mexico State University Dec. 10. Payton received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Heather received a Bachelor of Music Education degree.

The couple has moved to Borger, Texas, where Payton is employed at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company as and electrical engineer. Heather will be teaching choir at Borger Middle School.

Payton is the son of Jim and Cathy Daughtery of Elida and Heather is the daughter of Dwayne and Tammie Wilkerson of Portales. They are both 2001 graduates of Portales High School.
