Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
At 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a public works office on the 800 block of Norris Street in reference to a missing voltage meter. Police have no suspects.
At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Gary Street in reference to a domestic order violation and theft. The home owner told police a man whom she has a domestic order against came to her home, stole her video-game system, and threatened to shoot at her home. Police obtained a warrant for the man’s arrest.
At 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a burglary in progress. The man police witnessed burglarizing a vehicle ran from the officer, hit the officer with a door, and attempted to throw objects at him in the course of a foot chase. The man was arrested, booked at the Curry County Adult Detention Center and charged with burglary, aggravated assault and resisting and evading a police officer.
At 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, a 22-year-old Portales man was arrested at the intersection of 20th and Mitchell streets for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was originally pulled over for having a defective license plate lamp. He was booked at the Curry County Adult Detention Center after failing a field sobriety test and breathalyzer test.
