Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, police went to a business on the 1900 block of Prince Street in reference to a suspected shoplifter. A New Mexico State Police officer told Clovis police he saw the 16-year-old male attempt to steal five packages of cold medicine. The juvenile was booked at the Curry County Juvenile Detention Facility for shoplifting.

At 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, police went to the 700 block of Dawn Loop in reference to a battery. The 19-year-old female told police a peer at school pulled her out of her car and made threats to fight her. Police will file a complaint of battery.

At 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 1100 block of 10th Street and found a 51-year-old female unresponsive and foaming at the mouth. The occupant of the residence told police she had used crack cocaine and drank alcohol earlier in the day; he said the woman had a history of heart problems. He said the woman came to his home with four beers and they were playing music on a keyboard when she “fell out” on the floor, so he poured water over her head and called police. The woman was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center.

At 1:30 a.m. on Friday, police pulled over a small vehicle traveling north on Prince Street at the Eighth Street intersect for a broken headlight, and arrested a 23-year-old man for possessing marijuana and on two outstanding warrants. The man was booked at the Curry County Adult Detention Center. He was also cited for not having insurance and for a broken headlight.
