Police searching for robbery suspect

Police are searching for male suspect they believe is responsible for Monday night’s armed robbery of a gas station in the 700 block of First Street, according to the police report.

A 20-year-old cashier at Sundance Fuels told police the suspect told her to give him all her money or else he’d shoot her, the report said. He kept his hand in his right pocket during the robbery, the report said.

The cashier gave the suspect $790, which he put into a white plastic bag and left the business a minute after arriving, according to a store surveillance video, the report shows.

Police received the call at about 8:50 p.m.

The clerk described the suspect as 5-foot-7 and 155 pounds, the report said.

In the surveillance video, the suspect’s face was hidden behind a gray hooded jacket. He wore black gloves, a white shirt, dark pants and white shoes, according to the report.

No gun was observed by the clerk or in the store’s surveillance video.

Local man convicted in two burglaries

John Fulgham, 24, of Clovis was convicted Tuesday of burglarizing a residence and a business, according to a press release from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Fulgham will be sentenced in the next 60 days and faces a punishment of three to nine years in prison, according to the report.

Fulgham told police he stole $1,100 from his former employer in two incidents in January 2004 to support his methamphetamine habit, the release said.

While out on bail in August 2004, he was arrested for burglary of a home. Police said Fulgham injured the homeowner and fled the scene.

He was arrested the following day, the report said.
