Cox, Marilynn

November 11, 2005

Marilynn T. Cox, 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born June 3, 1932, to Dewey and Nora Evelyn Tidmore in Clovis.

She married Burl Cox in 1950 and became a "relocation expert" after moving 40 times the first 17 years of her marriage.

Family members said she devoted her life to her husband, children and friends and was described as being a person who was easy to know.

She was an active volunteer and served as a vice president of the Fort Worth Geological and Geophysical Auxiliary, and an officer of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary in Lafayette, La. She had a life-long interest in gardening and was an avid member of Budwatchers in Lafayette, La., until she moved to Fort Worth in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Burl Cox; and her sister, Francis Patterson.

Survivors include her daughters, Patti Williams (and her husband Jim) of Cresson, Texas and Kathy L. Cox (Lance Adrian) of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Mike Cox (Donna) of Lafayette, La.; grandchildren, Jennifer Riddle (Stephen), Scott Richard, Mickey Cox and Meg Cox; and great-grandsons, Jacob and Colin Riddle.

The family suggests donations be made in her memory to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are by Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Worth, Texas.
