Jacqueline “Jackie” Brown, 75, of Clovis, died Sept. 23, 2005, in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born July 8, 1930, in Ennis, Texas to J.D. and Anna Collins.

She was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a historian of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 117, a member of the N.A.A.C.P and A.A.R.P. won medals and ribbons in the Curry County 50 plus Olympics, and did plays, arts and crafts at the Friendship Senior Center. Family members said she enjoyed giving her crafts to family and friends.

Survivors include her two daughters, LaWinifred “Baby Ann” Norwood (and husband, Anthony) of Hampton, Va. and Angelia Brown of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Broderick R. Robinson of San Francisco, Calif., James L. Robinson (Sharon) of Flint, Mich., Andre M. Desper and Bryanna M. Stanberry, both of Plano, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Adina H. Robinson, Katherine S. Robinson and James J. Robinson, all of Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Alma Y. Flowers–Rogers of Vacaville, Calif., and Vicki G. Flowers of Dallas, Texas; a brother, William M. Flowers (Dorsey) of Phoenix, Ariz.; a nephew, Zackery W. Turner of Dallas, Texas; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family acknowledges her special friends, Cheryl Smith, Bertha Grant, Betty Jackson, her bench buddy Johnny Chacon, and her other friends who are too many to name.

Rev. R.L. Smith and Bishop W. Charles Green will officiate.

A reception will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
