Autrey, Ralph

Ralph E. Autrey, 92, of Texico died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 26, 1912, in Concho County, Texas, to Felix and Emily Autrey.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lawana Talley on Nov. 16, 1973, in Texico. He had been a resident of Texico since 1957 after moving from Belen. He worked as a farmer, truck driver, and in later years, ran the Sunny Side Trailer Park. He was of the Baptist faith.

Family members said he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Allen; step-son, Robert Hall; four brothers, Milton, F. E., Thurell and J. C.; and two sisters, Loraine, and Lucille.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Karen Evans, Lillian Banghart and Lena Vaughn, all of Clovis, and Mamie Broadhurst of Texico; three sons, Ralph Autrey Jr. of Farwell, Leland Autrey (and wife, Pam) of Texico, and Raymond Autrey of El Paso, Texas; three step-sons, Delbert Hall of Florida, David Hall of Texico and Joel Hall of Corrales; two brothers, E.E. Autrey of Grants and Edward Autrey of Texico; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
