Goff leads Aggies to victory

HONOLULU — Former Clovis High golfer Rober Goff shot a 54-hole score of 214 to take individual honors and lead New Mexico State to the team title in the Hawaii Fall Intercollegiate tournament on Wednesday.

The Aggies took the team title with a score of 7-over-par 871, leading from start to finish in winning a team title for the first time since taking the Sun Belt Conference crown in 2004.

Goff fired a two-under par 70 on Wednesday, finishing in a four-way tie for the top spot with Sevg-Su Ham of UNLV, Andrew Scott of San Diego State and Ryan Baca of Baylor.

Ham went out with a bogey on the first extra hole, and Baca fell with a bogey on the second. Goff and Scott then birdied the next hole before Goff sank a 20-foot birdie putt to eliminate Scott.

UNLV finished second in the event, one shot behind the Aggies.
