Tarleton defeats Zias in four

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Desiree Reed compiled 24 kills and 17 digs Saturday afternoon to lift Tarleton State to a 30-26, 29-31, 30-25, 30-21 win over Eastern New Mexico University in Lone Star Conference South Division volleyball.

Julie Hamilton added 14 kills and three aces for the TexAnns (16-15, 2-7 South).

ENMU (7-18, 2-6) rallied from an 8-0 deficit in the second game to square the match, but Tarleton scored the final six points to win the third game, then opened a 10-point lead late in Game 4 on a service ace by Hamilton.

Senior middle blocker Lindsay Schiely led four Zias in double figures in kills with 20. Freshman Rhea Wortman added 14 and juniors Grace George and Kristen VanWettering chipped in 13 and 11, respectively.
