UNM to offer medical program
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center officials will be touring New Mexico high schools during the fall in search of students who want to practice medicine and they will identify potential candidates. The UNM School of Medicine is trying to recruit and retain health practitioners.
The program will have 25 qualified high school students each year beginning in the fall of 2006. The application deadline for the program is Dec. 1. For more information, visit the hsc.unm.edu Web site or call 1-800-225-5866.
Band will perform at Do Drop In
There will be Classic Rock, Country, Beatles, Rolling Stones, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
The Fun Brothers Band will perform at Do Drop In and the cost is $3 per person and $5 per couple. For more information, call 226-5282. The concert will be on Oct. 7.
There will a campfire in the Do Drop In plaza. Also, a can of food donation for the food bank would be greatly appreciated. $3/$5 for couples.
