Kindergarten News

The Floyd Kindergarten class is learning the importance of keeping their environment clean by reducing, reusing, and recycling much of their classroom trash. The students collected trash from the snacks they brought to school for one week. The trash consisted of plastic, foil, metal, and paper, some of which will be used for future art projects. What could not be used was placed in a small landfill at the back of the school. The students with the help of their teacher will dig up the trash every four weeks to observe any decomposition that may occur. This year-long unit will give the students a better understanding of ways to reduce the amount of trash that goes into our landfills and along our highways. They will also continue to collect recycled items for classroom projects.
