Upcoming events

•School Board will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the main office.

• Parent/teacher conferences will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no school for students on this day.

Spirit Week/Homecoming

•Monday: Super Bronco is busy getting ready for homecoming and our school is crawling with characters from Gotham City! (Dress like the Joker, Poison Ivy, The Riddler, etc.)

•Tuesday: No school.

•Wednesday: Spiderman’s rivals have come to visit!! (Dress like Doc Ock, Green Goblin, etc.)

•Thursday: There are bothersome birds about Floyd! Dress like the Eagles (Navy blue/white) and see what happens when you enter Super Bronco Country!

•Friday: Super Bronco to the rescue!! Dress in red, white and blue to the extreme!

Volleyball

• No volleyball games this week.

Junior carnival

This year’s Junior Carnival will be Sept. 24 starting at noon. There will be fun and games, bingo, concession stand, and an auction all to be held outside. Items are needed for the auction. New or handmade items are preferred. For more information, call the school at 478-2211.

Football

• Saturday, Floyd junior high vs. Gateway Christian at Floyd, 10 a.m.

• Saturday, Floyd varsity vs. Hondo at Floyd, 1 p.m. (homecoming).

Other news

• The senior civic class if organizing a school wide relief effort for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We are asking for donations for the victims through Friday. Please call or drop off donations by the school. Items needed are: Baby formula and bottles, school supplies, stuffed animals, towels, blankets, canned food, hand-me-down clothes, diapers, etc.

• Athletes are selling peeler card coupons for Sonic, Subway, and Domino’s. Cards are $10 each. If you would like to purchase one, please contact the school or any athlete.

• The school would like to wish all participants to the State Fair good luck.
