8-21 Honors

Chairez

Anica M. Chairez, was nominated to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. She attends Yucca Junior High School, and maintains a 4.0 GPA. Mrs. Lena Willis, a history teacher at Yucca Junior High school nominated Ms. Chairez for the conference.

Burdell

Anneka Burdell of Clovis was the recipient of a $2000 scholarship on Aug. 17, 2005, from the Alliance for Affordable Services. She will enter her freshman year of college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she intends to study business.

Dodd

Caleb D’Wayne Dodd of Melrose, was the recipient of the Sam Walton Community Scholarship. He is a 2005 graduate of Melrose High School. He will attend New Mexico State University, majoring in agricultural education. He is the son of Dennis and Dena Dodd of Melrose.
