Pfc. Damian James Garza, 19, of Odessa, Texas, died Aug. 4, 2005, in Afghanistan.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1985, in Portales. He attended Odessa High and Zion Christian School in Odessa and in Alamo, Texas. He served as a Ranger in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his parents, Jaime and Denise Garza of Odessa; grandparents, Rita Pena and Adolfo and Lydia Pineda, all of Clovis; a brother, Justin Garza of Odessa; a sister, Jamie Robles (and husband, Chuck) of Midland, Texas; two nieces Marissa and Lauren Robles, both of Midland, Texas.
Father Frank Chavez will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
