Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

July 13 Dora News

More stormy, electrical, windy clouds keep coming through this area. Some light rain and a smithering of tiny hail in some areas. I don’t know of any crops in our area that have been damaged. However over the Texas line all along farmers have had their crops damaged, some of them completely destroyed.

Last Reminder

The Dora graduating class of 1955 is inviting people to come by the Dora Community Building today for visitation and reminiscing. For information call Buna Cathey at 477-2273. Surviving class members would love to see old friends and relatives there between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Sympathy

We extend our sympathy to Sue and Blake Inge and all relatives in the death of her brother, Bo Chunn, of Causey. He lied last week and his services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Causey Cemetery. Bo leaves behind a son, a daughter, three sisters and one brother, his father and step-mother, Clovie and Esther Chunn of Portales.

VBS

The baptists of Dora are very busy this week in their annual Bible school. There will be family night on Friday and all are invited to come for the program, food and fellowship. Hot dogs will be furnished but they ask you to bring chips, dips, cookies or anything for finger eating.

Special

The granddaughter of the Tollets will be at Dora Baptist Church Sunday to present the program of a recent mission trip.
