John Russell “JR” Steelman, 53, of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1951, in Huntington, to John “Jack” and Nada Parsons Steelman.

He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Dr. D.R. and Henrietta Armbrecht Parsons; and his paternal grandparents, John C. and Grace Simmons Steelman.

Survivors include his mother; a sister, Nada “Nico” Cameron Francis (and husband, Barney) of Portales; a nephew, Worthy Cameron (Heather) of Lubbock and their two children, Abigail and Cade; cousins, Mary Ann Coalson and Linda Sue Hensley of Huntington and Patty and Harvey Dade of Georgia.

The Rev. David Richards will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va.
