Mr. Jimmy “Bo” Chunn, 71, of Causey died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Pitchfork to Lola and Clovie S. Chunn. His family lived in Bledsoe, Texas, until 1946 when they moved to Arch. He was a member of the Class of 1952 at Portales High School. He married to Annetta Judah on July 18, 1954. They later divorced. He moved to Causey in 1959 and ranched. He raised black angus cattle. He also operated Chunn Well Service until the early 1980s. He was a member and Past Master of Elida Lodge No. 31 and the Portales Lodge. He was a member of the Causey Church of Christ.

Family members said he had presided over countless Masonic graveside services through the years and also was involved in showing calves and helping others with how to show their cattle.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by a son, Rick Chunn (and wife, April) of Woodland, Wash., a daughter , Karen Chandler (Steve) of Portales; four grandchildren, Amber Logan (Mark), Staci Shoemaker (Scott), Stanley Chunn and Stephannie Chandler; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Grace; his father and step-mother, Clovie and Esther Chunn of Portales; a brother, Clovie L. “Co” Chunn (Valerie) of Portales; and three sisters, Carmen Woods (Roger) of Rogersville, Mo., Chari Wood (Ronnie) of Roswell and Sue Inge (Blake) of Dora.

Leroy Thomas will officiate services.

Pallbearers will be Miller Butts, Danny Inge, Johnny Inge, Stanley Chunn, Jay Alexander, Jerry Alexander and Wade Butts.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge and his many friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
