June Roberts, 96, of Clovis, died Wednesday June 8, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

She was born on June 24, 1908, Duncan, Okla., to James H. and Mae Belcher Sartain.

The family moved to New Mexico in 1923, and farmed in the Fields community. She married James W. “Jim” Roberts in 1930. They farmed in the Claud community until 1950 then moved to Clovis. She resided at Laurel Ridge Healthcare from May of 2004 until her death. She was a homemaker, and a was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Jimmy Sartain.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jean Miller and Billie June Kenemore both of Clovis, and Nora Mae Weddle of Hugo, Okla.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Myrle Carrie McWilliams Hashberger Krantz Sterner, 80, of Red Lodge, Mont., died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Red Lodge, Mont.

She was born on June 29, 1924, to Opal Cora Lindsey and John Vernon “Tink” McWilliams, in Bisbee, Ariz.

She spent her early years near Flagstaff, Ariz., on the family homestead, and moved with her family to Somers, Mont., near Flathead Lake and graduated from Flathead High School in 1943. She joined the Navy “WAVES” and was stationed at Indianhead and Stumpneck, Maryland where she worked in the X-ray and photographic departments. In 2002 she moved to Red Lodge, Mont., to be near her daughter. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a teacher and librarian for many years. She was involved in many community organizations such as PTA, Boy and Girl Scouts, and the VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Jack Theodore McWilliams, and Gerald “Jerry’ McWilliams; her husbands Herman Elmer (Babe) Kranz, Lloyd Noah Hashberger, and Clarence Ray Sterner.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Hashberger Young (and husband, Doyle) of Melrose, Janice Sterner Jones (Kumen) of Red Lodge, Mont., and Marilyn Sterner Chew of Eugene, Ore.; a son William Ray Hashberger McWilliams of Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; a niece; a nephew, and two step-daughters.
