DWI checkpoint Friday
On Friday, the Elida Police Department, in joint operation with other area law enforcement agencies, will be conducting a DWI check point in the town of Elida from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. This operation is part of a continuing effort to reduce the number of drunk drivers on the roadways of New Mexico.
Court to close for training
The Portales Municipal Court will be closed or annual training in the upcoming weeks.
The court will be close June 6-10 and will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 1-5:30 p.m. June 13-16.
Judge Fred Arnold’s office hours will be June 13 from 1-4:30 p.m., and Arnold will be in training June 14-16.
