Mr. Ronald M. Brinker, 55, of Portales, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1950, in Lovington, to Earlene and Glen O. Brinker.

He grew up in Tatum and Lovington. He graduated from Lovington High School in 1969. After high school he attended New Mexico Junior College for 2 years where he played on the basketball team. In 1971 he transferred to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He moved to Portales in 1995. Family members said he was an accomplished tennis player, enjoyed playing chess and reading. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother; and a brother, Barry Brinker (and wife, Darlene) of Wayne, Pa.

Burial will be held at a later date at Lovington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Floyd Methodist Church.
