Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

May 4 South County News

We are wondering about this colder spell here on Sunday. It is certainly unusually late since it seemed spring had arrived for good. In any case, it hadn’t been warm enough, long enough to warm the ground suitable for planting corn or peanuts.

Visitor

Tannis Cathey’s mother was here visiting over the weekend and came to worship with us Sunday. She looked so familiar and I found out she was raised in Portales. Her parents used to have an automatic laundry in Portales and I visited her mother every washday. She is now 95 years old and lives in the Heartland Care Center.

Home

Norma Cummings is able to be home again after having surgery and chemotherapy.

On the map

Milnesand is now definitely being talked about since the prairie chicken weekend there. It was a total success and they plan on it continuing to grow.

Concerns

Continue to keep Lynn Paul Preuit in your mind. They don’t have the results yet on the tests and x-rays.
