March 30 Dora News

This has been a beautiful Easter season. A little of warm than cool, a little rain and a few snow showers, then Sunday was a clear, cool and a little breezy. I hear there were quite a few youngsters hunting Easter eggs over the weekend also.

Now everyone will settle down in time to get the kids off to school again and life will return to normal.

Baptist Cowboy Revival

The Cowboy Camp meeting at the Dora Baptist Church was a big success. Each night seemed to have more in attendance. On Wednesday night the crew cooked 200 hamburgers and they were just a few left afterwards. There was food and fellowship following each night service. Sunday was a long morning of sunrise worship and breakfast served by the men. It was followed a long service worshiping in song and testimonies. This ended late after the morning message and a baptismal service.

Correction

There was a misprint in the Dora News last week on the time of the Dora Church of Christ ladies night out. It will be on April 8 at 6:30 p.m. (not 8:30 p.m. as previously reported).

Round about

Kris Watkins is still in school at Eastern New Mexico University but is also an associate pastor in a church in Tatum. He lived in Dora for years with his mom, Kathy Rolston. He is a graduate of Dora.

Colby Tollett is now out of the military and got home last week. It’s good to see him.

Kenneth Victor is home following surgery and doing well.
