Mrs. Virginia Hines Drager, 81, of Farwell, died March 25, 2005, at Muleshoe Area Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1923, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Bob and Nannie Hines.

She moved to Farwell with her family in 1929. She married John P.A. Drager on April 12, 1943. They lived in the Rhea community until 1974 when they moved east of Clovis. She lived her last seven years in Farwell. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Farwell Convalescent Center Auxiliary, the Braille Workers at St. John Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and St. John Lutheran Church. Family members said she loved to make rum cakes and cookies and give them away.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Drager; three brothers, Robert Hines, and Lynn and Walter Westbrook; and two sisters, Rose Gattis and Ethlene Bell.

Survivors include two sons, Aaron Drager (and wife, Ginger) and Samuel Drager (Carrie), all of Clovis; a daughter, Elizabeth Jesko (Wayne) of Lazbuddie, Texas; a special nephew, Joe Drager of Clovis; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Hines of California; and many nieces and nephews.

The Rev. David Symm will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at the home Samuel Drager.

Pallbearers are Lance Starbuck, Kirk and Dustan Jesko, Cody, Eric, Jeremy and Zane Drager.

Honorary pallbearers are Naiomi Starbuck, LaMicah, Monica, Hannah and Crystal Drager, and Stephanie Jesko.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church pre-school or and emergency medical service.
