Swimming — Age 4 and up from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. March 28-April 7 at the ENMU Natatorium with Devin McMaster, Red Cross certified lifeguard/instructor. The fee is $40. Parental consent is required.

Internet navigating basics — 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 29 at University Computer Center, Room 107. Class taught by Becky Lopez, client support supervisor, information technology services, ENMU. The fee is $25. Registration deadline is March 24.

Investing for income — Four-week class and focusing on diversification and laddering investments 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays March 31-April 21 at 403 West Fourth, Portales. Instructor is Glen O’Rear. The fee is $20 with an additional $8 textbook, payable to the instructor. Registration deadline is March 28.

Night Sky — A Look at Our Universe — 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 1 Science Building, Room 108. Mick Hoffman is the instructor. The fee is $10 for the whole family and includes a planisphere for future star gazing. Registration deadline is March 29.

Grant Writing 101— The ABCs of Getting a Grant — 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 2 and 9, College of Business, Room 130. Intended for new, inexperienced grant writers or anyone needing a refresher. Class is taught by Sharon King, coordinator of grant activities, ENMU, will teach you the key components to put together your proposal and increase your chances for successful grant funding, The fee is $50. Registration deadline is March 30.

‘Lunch & Learn’ — 11:30 a.m. today in the Sandia Room of the Campus Union Building. The topic is “Listening: The Key to Productivity.” The facilitator is Kevin Mitchell.

Scholastic Book Fair — The Student Council for Exceptional Children will hosting the Scholastic Book Fair from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. April 4 to April 8 and 8 a.m. until noon April 9 in the College of Education lobby. Information: 562-2791

Upward Bound — The Eastern New Mexico University Upward Bound Program is looking for qualified individuals to teach classes June 13 through July 23 during the summer program. The participants in the Upward Bound Program are high school students 13 to 18. The positions can be work-study, student hire, and licensed or professional teachers.

Salary ranges from $8 to $15 an hour.

In addition, the program is seeking one qualified hall director and five resident assistants. Benefits include room and board plus a salary of $200 to $300 per week. Dates of employment are June 1 through July 29.

ENMU Hosting Student Film Festival — The Communication Department is hosting the Spring 2005 ENMU Student Film Festival. All ENMU students can submit projects for the festival.
