Ruby Jones, 82

Services: Have been held.

Ruby F. Jones, 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1923, in Taiban, to W.F. Miller and Beulah Ava Traylor.

She owned Jones Rentals from 1964 to 1995 in Clovis. She worked at the Hotel Clovis and for Clovis Answering Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Phillips (and wife, Susan) of Waco, Texas, and Terry Jones of Clovis; two daughters, Patty Looper of Clovis and Sherry Briggs (Arthur) of El Dorado, Ark.; three brothers, W.F Miller of Portales, Jack Miller of Yuma, Ariz., and Jerry Miller of San Angelo, Texas; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Arthur Briggs Jr. will officiate the services.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Gary Brewton, 54

Services: 2 p.m. today at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell.

Gary R. Brewton, 54, of Roswell, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1951, in Artesia, to Elmer and Esther Brewton.

Family members said he never met a stranger, and his unconditional love, giving, and compassion for others will be a lasting memory.

He married Dianne Finch on June 6, 1970, in Portales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ronnie, Carroll, and Darryll Brewton; two sisters, Nina and Vivian; a son, Marty Wayne Brewton; and a grandson, Zachary Mason German.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne; two daughters, Stacy German (and husband, Max) and Kimberly Tate (Nathan); a son, Dustin Brewton (fiancé, Jenae Hollis); two grandsons, Tristan and Dylan Tate; two granddaughters, Sydney German and Jordan Tate; and two sisters, Shirley Vavoudis and Shari Torres.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell.

Burial will be at South Park Cemetery in Roswell.
