More showers last week and more forecast for the latter days this week. No one is fussing that I know of even though some elder folks don’t venture out on muddy roads to church.

I haven’t even heard any school bus drivers complaining about the dirt roads.

Reports

Elton Parkinson had his surgery last week in Lubbock and is home doing fine. Ruby Parkinson has laryngitis and ear infection ad was the doctor Monday.

Others in the area who have had surgery are improving.

Tracey Price, formerly of the Garrison area ,was to have surgery on her spine on Tuesday in Lubbock, fluid had collected in the damage from the accident that paralyzed her in the fall. She is the granddaughter of Weld and Mavis Carmichael of Garrison.

Hershel and Sherry Carmichael spent several days in Houston, Texas a couple of weeks ago when their daughter, Leann had surgery for a gallbladder problem. She is doing fine.

Sympathy

To Zane Gushwa and family and friends in the death of her husband, George on Saturday. George moved southwest of Dora years ago on a ranch and later married Zane. They have made their home there and have many friends all over the area and Elida area. George was a WWII vet. His sister, Faye Rowland, also lived in the area with her husband Henry. They have been deceased for years. May God bless each of those left to mourn his passing. His services were Tuesday at Wheeler Mortuary.
