O.J. “Jim” Barron III, 57, of Angel Fire, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005.

He was born in Lubbock, raised in Spur, Texas, graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and attended Texas Tech University. He was involved in ranching in Texas and New Mexico and as a ranch broker he sold ranches for Bennett & Barron Land Company and Barron & Company. He was active in Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. He attended Trinity Church in Lubbock, Liberty Rock Church in Ralls and Angel Fire Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, James S. Barron.

Survivors include his wife, Cisco Barron of Angel Fire; a son, Matt Barron of Angel Fire; and two sisters, Molly Day of McKinney, Texas and Amanda Coyle of Virginia Beach, Va.

The Reverend Paul Jantzen will officiate the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossview Christian Camp, P. O. Box 98495, Lubbock TX 79499 or to a favorite charity.

A private burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock.

Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
