Lions club

• The Floyd Lions Club is sponsoring an Essay Contest for students in grades 1-12. An instrument will be given away on each of the three nights of the 55th Annual Floyd Jamboree held the last weekend in March. All grade levels will have a chance: Thursday night will be for elementary students, Friday middle school, and Saturday high school. Prizes to be given away will be a stringed musical instrument and lessons. Students who wish to participate must fill out an application and write an essay on why they should be picked for the giveaway, their musical interests, desires and ambitions. These must be completed and turned in by March 1st. Applications are available at the Floyd School Front desk.

• The Lions Club would also like the community’s help in choosing the Citizen of the Year. Please send any suggestions to the Lions Club at PO Box 51, Floyd, NM 88118.
