Student Profile

Ali Garrett is the daughter of Ron and Jan Garrett and is a senior at Clovis High School.

Tell us about your pet(s): I have three animals. I have one dog and she is 1/2 golden retriever and 1/2 Irish setter. Her name is Golda and she is 11 years old. I also have two cats. One is black and her name is Smokey. She is about 12 years old. I found her in our attic at Christmas time. I also have a orange cat named Tom. He is almost 2 years old. I found him at my house and had to keep him because he was so cute.

Who is your hero and why? My heroes are my mom and my cousin. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in the seventh grade and my 22-year-old cousin Kelly was diagnosed last year. They have both beat the disease. My mom has been cancer-free for five years and Kelly had her last treatment in August. They are the two strongest people I know.

What do you envision your life being like in 10 years? In 10 years, I envision myself being married to a great Christian man and having a family. I want either two boys or a boy and a girl. I will be working with animals, my favorite thing, and be very happy.

What is your favorite quote? “Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people.”

What is your most prized possession? My most prized possession is my Bible. Any question that I ever have, I can always find in there.
