Jimmy Floyd McKinney, 66, of Bloomfield, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1938, in Tucumcari, to Leona and Floyd McKinney. He married Lucille Jimenez on Sept. 21, 1957, in Tucumcari. He was a firefighter for Farmington for three years. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas in 1994 and he was the owner of McK’s Vacuum Sales and Service. Family members said he enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hung wild game with his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield and the Knights of Columbus in Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred; and a brother, Jerry McKinney of Tucumcari.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jenifer Jacquez (and husband, Myron); seven grandchildren, Myron and Juian Jacquez, and Ian, David, Bryson, Monique and Joshua McKinney; two sons, Jimmie McKinney Jr. (Patricia) and John McKinney (Teena); two brothers, Kenneth McKinney (Eulene) of Clovis and Roy McKinney (Brenda); two sisters, Beatrice Wilson and Elinora Perez (Joe), a sister-in-law, Toni McKinney, all of Tucumcari; and numerous nieces and nephews and godchildren.

Arrangements were by Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home of Farmington.
