Virgie Cary, 75, of Bovina, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at her home.

She was a Bovina resident since 1974 when she moved from Lubbock. She married Kenneth Cary on May 13, 1947, in Clovis. She was the office manager of Bovina Pump Co. for many years. She was a member of the Bovina United Methodist Church and she taught Sunday school. She was a cub scout leader and a member of the Women’s Study Club. She was a member of the Bovina Chamber of Commerce, serving on the board of directors and as secretary/treasurer for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Cary of Texico; two sisters, Judy Cox of Muleshoe and Laverne Harper of Sudan, Texas; a brother, David Sager of Clifton, Texas; and two grandchildren, Caitlin and Morgan Cary.

Burial was at the Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield, Texas.

Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona, Texas.
