Jan. 26 Dora News

This cold snap has sure seemed colder since it followed the cooler days last week that finally peaked at near 70 degrees on Friday. Some of the outside bulbs were thinking of putting on sprouts.

Commoditees

These were delivered Wednesday. We sure got some good tomatoes this time. I delivered to two shut-ins again and really did enjoy seeing Sybil Victor for a short visit. She said Bill is doing some better now, and they are enjoying prettier weather. I also took them to Annelle Fullerton and she is doing fine. Tonya Craig delivered to Gene Simmons as she went by from school work.

Sympathy

Iva Lee Brown Wilmoth wa raised in the area of Richland southeast of Pep. She and Dale Wilmoth married in 1936 and lived in the Dora area until 1936 and lived in the Dora area until 1936. She passed away in Des Moines, Washington last week. Services were Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist in Portales. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Dora. She is survived by three sons and their wives and a daughter and husband. She has three brothers still living, Leo and Delbert both of Roosevelt county and Slen Brown of Roswell. Also three sisters Zell Chapman and Taylor of Portales, Cordia Harvey of Danville, California and Jeanie Travis of Farwell, Texas.

Graves

David Graves was raised and attended school in Elida and graduated in 1958. After school he served in the U.S. Navy. He married Delma Blakley Radcliff in 1965. Delma was raised in Dora but they made their home in Elida where they owned and operated a custom beef processing until in mid 80’s, then were in other businesses. Memorial contibutions may be made to the Elida Fire Dept. Family and friends will gather at the Elida Senior Center following services.
