Prentice L. Mills, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1917, in Munday, Texas, to John and Lucy Mills.

He grew up in Roswell, and had lived in Silverton, Texas for six years before moving to Farwell in 1957. He was the office manager for the Parmer County ASCS until his retirement. He was a member of the Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge in Bovina for over 25 years and the Texico Farwell Rotary Club. He married La Von Bailey on June 29, 1939, in Roswell.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Aiello of Amarillo and Cheryl Spiewak (and husband, Bob) of Batavia, Ill.; a son, Donald Wade Mills (Drucilla) of Sonoma, Calif.; five grandchildren, Chuck, Tom and Don Spiewak of Batavia, Ill., Angie Frank (Phil) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cindy Dockery (Steve) of Amarillo; five great-granddaughters, Heather and Breanna Spiewak, Peyton Frank Darcy and Abby Dockery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Farwell Convalescent Center, or the Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Farwell.

Masonic services will be performed by the Farwell Masonic Lodge No. 977.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Terrace Cemetery in Farwell.
