Mrs. Thelma S. Bailey, 88, of Clovis, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, in Logan.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1915, in Atoka, Okla., to W.O. and Bessie Shelton.

She was a past president of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Clovis Community Theatre. After her civil service retirement she was a member of the Sarah Coventry 2 Million Dollar Club. Family members said she was an avid fisherwoman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie A. “Red” Bailey; a daughter, Beverly Sue; and a son, Kenny Leslie.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Hacic (and husband, Dennis) of Hurst, Texas; two sons, Jeff Bailey (Angie) of Logan and Mike Bailey of Clovis; two sisters, Coelita Eldridge of Clovis and Alma Inman of Hereford; six grandchildren, Scott Thompson, Laurie Lambert, Jeffry Bailey, Shane Bailey, Erin Rowley and Mikail Tinker.

The Reverend Joseph Vest will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park.

Pallbearers Jeffry and Shane Bailey, Scott Thompson, Kurt Rowley, Michael Tinker and Rick Lambert.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
