Maureen L. Clayton, 89, formerly of Clovis, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, in Denver, Colo.

She was born on June 14, 1915, in Mount Vernon, Texas, to Hayden and Viola Dozier Bryant.

She married Ollie Clayton in 1940, and they raised five children during his Air Force career. They lived in Clovis for four years and their children attended Clovis schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; and a daughter, Sheila Clayton Matson.

Survivors include three daughters, Diana Clayton (and husband, George), Betty Clayton and Jeannie Clayton; a son, David Clayton (Martia); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the University Hills Baptist Church Food Ministry, 2750 S. Clermont Drive, Denver, CO 80222.
