Andrea Faye Chavez, 49, of Mineral Wells, Texas, died on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home.

She was born on July 7, 1955, in Portales, to Clark and Ann Yandell Terry Rains.

She married Alfred Chavez on July 14, 1973, in Oxnard, Calif. She was a regional manager for Safeway Grocery Stores and had lived in Mineral Wells for 10 years. She grew up in Portales and in Colorado.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Justin C. Chavez of Mineral Wells; two brothers, Terry Rains of Dallas, Ore., and Casey Rains of Hobbs; a sister, Sharon Sutherland of Garland, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Portales Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home of Mineral Wells, Texas.
