Mr. Dolphus Ray Block, 70, of Logan, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque.

He was born on May 19, 1934, in Clovis, to Walter and Floreine Wilson Block.

He moved to Logan two years ago from Albuquerque where he had been a longtime resident. He had worked for UPS as a district manager for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ray Block; two sisters, Christine Waltmon and Walterine Hughes.

Survivors include a son, Coy Block of Tierras; three daughters, Tarrae Levine of Albuquerque, Nicole Montigue-Young of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Talana Block of Albuquerque; three sisters, Juanita Breaux of Alvarado, Texas, Pauline Smith of Tulia, Texas, and Naomi Kelm of Redmond, Ore.; a brother, Aultus Block of Mabelvale, Ark.; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Waltmon of Logan and J.C. Hughes of Tulia, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Aultus Block will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

Pallbearers are the American Legion Post 77 of Logan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Albuquerque VA

Hospital library for books and audio tapes.
