Dora School News

This has been a very busy summer at the Dora School. The most noticeable area is the playground for grades 1-6, which has been moved into the old parking area between the Luscombe and Rogers gyms. Jerry Siewert is working every day the weather permits to get it all finished before school starts. He has the new play equipment in now and is working on the layers required for the base and every layer of different stuff for safety in case of a fall. The remodeling, moving, addition and etc. will be phased out over the next six years or so.

Preschool

Screening and registration for preschoolers begins on Tuesday at 9 a.m. They will eventually be moved from Elementary II to the west end rooms in Elementary I building. They will be told on Tuesday as they are screened and registered just when they will start.

Kindergarten

Dora kindergarten students start school Aug. 17. They will also eventually be moved into the Elementary I building.

Grades 1-12

Parents of all returning high school students will receive a copy of their students’ schedules in the mail. New high school students and parents need to visit the school before Aug. 12th in order to enroll. Call the office at school for an appointment at either the principal’s office (477-2216) or the superintendent’s Office (477-2211). Bring shot records, a prior school report card and/or transcript and the birth certificate of each new student.

Lunch Tickets

These will be available in the high school office from Janet Newborn at the beginning of school.

Staff

All positions are filled, even custodians and kitchen help.

Welcome

We welcome all new students who come to Dora and wish you a happy year in our midst. Also, we welcome our new principal and their changes. We pray you will be an asset to our school and we to you.

Charlie Sez

Students, study to show yourself approved — a student full of pride, not shame.
