Mrs. Dorothy Lee Brown Tipton, 94, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Monday, May 24, 2004, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Spartanburg, S.C.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1909, in Cameron, New Mexico Territory, to William T. and Martha Walker Brown.
She married Thomas J. Tipton in 1931 in Roswell. She was a member of First Christian Church in Clovis. She retired from J. C. Penney Company with 17 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a stepson, Thomas H. Tipton; and a son-in-law, Jerry Franklin King.
Survivors include a daughter, Reita Doloris Tipton King of Spartanburg, S.C.; four grandchidlren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jon Forrest will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fernwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29307.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
