Louis Clifton Faris, 83, of Los Lunas, died Friday, May 21, 2004.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1920, in Black Tower, to James Marvin and Delia Ellen Eller Faris.

He married Velmoise Verba Tye on Oct. 11, 1946.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a sister, Mary Lou Harrington; and a brother, James Faris.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Moore, Judy Ivanowski, Joyce Barlow and Loretta Faris; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Being one of New Mexico’s finest, true cowboys, Clifton moved his wife and family when he accepted a job as the foreman of the largest ranch/farm in the Animas area. Many years later after the girls had all grown and moved, Clifton and Velmoise retired to Los Lunas to be near other family.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors of Albuquerque.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 924-C Menual Blvd. N.E. in Albuquerque.
