Dora BPA attend Nationals
Dora high school students Sara Allison, Jena Bilberry, Mary Humphreys, and Tyler Wilhoit participated in the April 28-May 2 National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sara competed in the Application/Interview contest; Jena presented a 5-7 minute prepared speech; Mary was required to prepare and present a 1-3 minute speech within 10 minutes of receiving the topic and Tyler tested on Fundamentals of HTML. These students participated at the regional and state conferences during the 2003-2004 school year, having placed within the top three in order to qualify for the next level of competition.
Dora high school students Sara Allison and Ashley Carter are currently running as state officer candidates for New Mexico Business Professionals of America. Requirements for candidacy include completing an application and candidate test, and submitting a school transcript and a 100-word resume paragraph. Ballots with the candidates’ resumes have been mailed to all New Mexico BPA chapters. Results will be announced later this month.
The Dora FFA complete report of invitational and state judging competitions will be in next week’s school report.
The best of luck to each of you this week as you complete the year of studies and test, and plan for a wonderful summer.
