Let Jesus' love resurrect in you

Have you ever thought about how this world would be had Jesus not been born? I shudder to think about it. Imagine a world of no absolutes, without any standards of right or wrong.

Mankind has always had a sin problem, but we do have a choice and a wrong choice brings bondage, imprisoning the human soul. It’s not just for a lifetime, but also for eternity. At the point of death, the dye is cast. There are no second chances, no “do-overs.”

Rebellion became so great in Noah’s day God had to purge the land with a flood.

Sodom and Gomorrah are examples of the depths of human degradation.

The Bible cannot be rewritten for compromising situations and rationalizing actions. The truth remains. God’s Word is still God’s Word. It is the truth of the ages.

Even though man rejected and rebelled against God, His love is so great He had a plan to redeem His creation: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

The good news is that Jesus did come. It’s what the resurrection is all about. Jesus’ resurrection brings hope for the hopeless and strength for the helpless. The only way any of us will ever get out of this life alive is through Jesus: “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

Jesus in one’s life makes all the difference. Nothing is impossible to the believer. We overcome by the “blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony” (Revelation 12:11). The enemy was forever defeated by Jesus’ sacrifice. God knew the depths of the cost of redemption yet He created man anyway, because He is a God of love.

Let the approaching Resurrection Day remind you of that incredible love. Tell yourself over and over again: “I am loved. I am bought with an inestimable price. I am not my own.”

If Jesus loved me enough to die for me, how can I not love Him in return?

The resurrection is more than a historic event. It is demonstrated every day in the lives of hungry hearts. Let us resurrect from the deadness of apathy, despair and loneliness. Let His love resurrect in you. The resurrection of Jesus changed my life forever because:

“If I had been the only one in this dark world of sin,

Still Jesus would have died for me. He is my dearest friend.

The wounds He bore, the agony upon a cross of pain

Is more than I can fathom, for me He suffered shame.

It was for me His blood was shed. He saw me in life’s time.

He took my place upon a cross and that makes Jesus mine.

To me one thing is certain; life’s battles could not be won.

Were I the only one on earth, still Jesus would have come.”
