Flora Garcia

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community Church.

Flora Garcia, 81, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 16, 1922, in Clayton, to Manuel and Ramona Gutierrez Chavez. She married Ernest Garcia July 24, 1938, in Wheatland, Wyo. They came to Clovis in August 1950 where she was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community Church. A family member said Flora loved to cook, especially for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1986, her parents, and three brothers, John, Joe and Paul Chavez.

Survivors include four sons, Danny Garcia (and wife Leonela) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rudy Garcia of Clovis, Charlie Garcia (Anna) of Santa Fe, and Sammy Garcia (Lydia) of Clovis; a daughter, Phyllis (and husband David Louis) Roybal of Clovis; six sisters, Lugarcita Esquibel of Wheatland, Ida Martinez of Rapid City, S.D., Margie Bradley of Penrose, Co., Alice VanOrsdall of Casper, Wyo., Adella Villa of Colorado Springs, Co., and Barbara Carter of Deadwood, S.D.; four brothers, Manuel Chavez of Colorado Springs, Gilbert Chavez of Trinidad, Co., Albert Chavez of McMinnville, Ore., and Efrin Chavez of Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Plains Regional Medical Center Home Health Care and Hospice.

Rosary will be said at 7 tonight.

The Rev. Sotero Sena will officiate services.

Pallbearers will be Jose Carlos Garcia, Fernando Louis Roybal, Arsenio Ernesto Roybal, Ernest Joseph Garcia, Alexandro Samuel Garcia and Manuel Chavez Jr.
