Jessie Bell Williams, 79, of Clovis, a preschool teacher, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born April 12, 1924, in Galveston, Texas, to Theodore and Gertie Davis Thompson.

She married Cash Brown on Sept. 18, 1942, in Matagorda County, Texas. She married James Williams on Jan. 22, 1949, in Houston. She came to Clovis in 1959 where she worked as a preschool teacher. She was a member of 21st Street Church of Christ and the Fourth and Cameo Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; a sister, Helen Hafford; two brothers, Wilbur Thompson and Alton Thompson; and a great-grandchild, Isiah Brown.

Survivors include six daughters Joyce Pollard (and husband, Bruce), Debra Ruffin and Andrea Lewis (Kenneth), all of Clovis, Joleta Ross (Nathaniel), Sandra Williams and Tonya Sutton, all of Arlington, Texas; four sons, Cash Brown (and wife, Louise) of Houston, James Williams and Jimmy Williams, both of Clovis, and Donald Williams (Cheryl) of Phoenix; 33 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.

Albert Williams will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

Pallbearers will be Andre Pollard, Thomas Bruchette, Malcolm Brown, Shalone Ruffin, and Jamaal, James III and Anthony White Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cash Brown Jr., Nathaniel Ross, Kenneth Lewis, Bruce Pollard and Tyrone Ross, and James Jr., Donald, Jimmy, and Adrian Williams.

Arrangements are under the direction of Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
