Dorothy Mabrel Adams, 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Bridges Retirement Manor in Clovis.

She was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Joplin, Mo., to Earl and Mabel Fitz Jerrell Williams.

She married William “Bill” Adams on Feb. 15, 1941, in Chickasha, Okla. They came to Clovis in November of 1986. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was past president of the Clovis Pilot Club. Family members said she was a great military bride, mother, grandmother and she enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jimmie Earl Williams; a sister, Pauline Leek; and two step-fathers, Joe Nivison and Lawrence Akin.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda Kaye DeVilbiss (and husband, Mac) of Yukon, Okla.; three sons, Ronald Joe Adams (Elanie) of Riverside, Calif., Anthony “Tony” Adams (Diane) of Overland Park, Kan., and Steven K. Adams of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Doug Brooks will officiate the services.

Honorary pallbearers are Clovis Pilot Club, Cleta Bridges, Bridges Retirement Manor and staff.

Cremation has taken place.
