Lady Broncos beat San Jon

SAN JON — Floyd won its second volleyball match of the season, defeating San Jon in four games on the road Saturday afternoon.

Floyd improved to 2-5 on the season with the 21-25, 27-25, 28-26, 25-10 victory. The Lady Broncos begin a three-match homestand on Tuesday against House, with junior high play starting at 4:30 p.m. Floyd will host Fort Sumner on Thursday and Melrose on Sept. 30.

Rockhurst sweeps Zias

LAWTON, Okla. — The Eastern New Mexico University Zias won one three games in the Southwest Regional Challenge volleyball tournament hosted by Cameron University.

Rockhurst defeated ENMU 30-14, 30-28, 30-22 on Saturday after the Zias split two matches on Friday.

Anna Bellum led the Zias (3-7) in kills with 14 and Kelley McGinty and Grace George finished with seven kills each. Bellum also led the team in digs with 13. Jennifer Bullock tallied 31 assists.

Regiane Manzato led the Lady Hawks with 14 kills.

The Zias defeated Dallas Baptist, 30-28, 30-24, 30-21 on Friday in their first game of the tournament. A slow start led to a 30-15, 30-22, 30-12 loss to St. Edward’s.

ENMU hosting soccer clinic

The Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team is hosting a free youth soccer clinic today from 5-6:30 p.m. at the ENMU soccer field.

The clinic is designed for players from ages 5-14. Players must provide their own soccer ball and shin guards. Parents must sign a participation form which will be available at the field.
